Pavement Services Corporation, serving the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area, made up of cities such as League City, Pasadena, Pearland, Sugarland, and The Woodlands and also includes smaller towns like Baytown, Conroe, Deer Park, Lake Jackson and Friendswood. The Sam’s Club in Friendswood is the featured project we will focus on for parking lot improvements and services offered by Pavement Services Corporation, a Concrete Asphalt Contractor with offices in Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston.
This project allowed for most all of our services to be performed in one place, showing the versatility of the PSC team, most of which are cross-trained to perform commercial asphalt contractor and commercial concrete contractor pavement services. The list of services performed on this site alone reads like our specialty list…
- Asphalt Pavement Surface Milling
- Recycled Asphalt Repair (Full Depth Reclamation)
- Concrete Pavement Repair
- Pavement Markings (Striping)
- Pipe Bollards
Commercial Asphalt Parking Lot Receives a “New Construction” Appearance
Parking Lot Re-surface Project – Sam’s | Friendswood, TX
The final product, requested by the client, was a completely re-surfaced asphalt parking lot, returning the store to that “new construction” appearance and allowing the striping to be re-done on a blank slate so all current ADA Handicap Parking Codes could be met. Meeting ADA code also involves making sure all the proper slopes are achieved as outlined in the 2012 Texas Accessibility Standards Code which includes…
- ADA Accessible Routes
- Accessible Means of Egress
- Parking Spaces
- ADA Signage
- ADA Ramps
- ADA Walking Surfaces
- ADA Truncated Domes Detectible Surface
- Curb Ramps
All work was performed with store operating hours remaining unchanged. Constant diligence was given by our well-trained Foreman and Crew Members as to the impact of our operations on the store’s business and customer accessibility. Negative impact on Sam’s Club business was minimal, if any at all, due to most of the work being performed at night.
There was also a significant amount of 7” Concrete Pavement Repair (Approximately 14k sf). The bulk of the repair area was located in the dock area. Careful attention was paid to the store’s delivery schedule and PSC repair plan. Dock access was maintained at all times, as well as emergency access to the entire building.
